The Minnesota Timberwolves had a bumpy start to the season, but with each passing game, the team is stabilizing. Following their sensational victory against the Miami Heat, the Timberwolves are now 9-9 and hold the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

Additionally, this victory marked their fifth consecutive victory. Things are finally looking good for the team and one of the primary reasons for this turnaround is Anthony Edwards.

Edwards was selected using the first overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 20-year-old is one of the most athletic players in the league and he is only bound to get better as he spends more time in the NBA.

Speaking of Edwards’ performance against the Heat, he stuffed the box score. He finished the game with 33 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 assists while playing 43 minutes! During the game, Edwards gave fans a moment that they will remember for some time.

The athletic forward threw down a vicious dunk on Heat’s Gabe Vincent. Unfortunately, the dunk was disallowed because Edwards committed an offensive foul in the process of throwing down the hammer.

The click above certainly highlights the intensity of the dunk and NBA fans certainly loved it. Here are some of the most amazing reactions to the dunk that fans posted under the tweet:

As many fans mentioned, seeing the opponent players’ reaction makes the dunk even better. The only sad part about the dunk was that it didn’t count. If it had counted, it would probably have gone down as one of the best dunks of the year.

Regardless of it not being counted, NBA fans will forever remember this vicious slam from Edwards.

Since his rookie year, Edwards has only gotten better. Through the first 18 games of the 2021-22 NBA season, Edwards is averaging a stunning 22.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.

If he can keep this up, the Timberwolves might finally return to the postseason. After all, apart from their young superstar in the making, they have the likes of Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell as well.
