Giannis Antetokounmpo saw that he was falling in the MVP race after the Bucks hit a rough patch in December which saw Giannis put up huge but inefficient numbers in some losses. With the performances that we have been seeing from his rivals, many started sliding him down their MVP lists. However, Giannis just proved to everyone that he is still indeed the best.

After a shocking loss to the Washington Wizards two days ago, the Bucks faced off against the team again tonight. They lost without Giannis available that night. He was playing tonight and scored 55 points to help the Bucks eke out a 10-point win and arrest their slow fall from the standings.

Fans reacted to Giannis’ incredible night by reminding everyone he’s still the best in the world.

The Bucks will be happy to have gotten this win given the Celtics’ loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Giannis Antetokounmpo has scored over 40 points in each of his last 3 games, with the Bucks needing every bit of the production to keep pace with the East this season.

Are The Milwaukee Bucks Still Championship Favorites?

The Bucks were among the list of teams people had high hopes for in the preseason. They haven’t underdelivered, sitting just a few games out of the best record in the NBA. However, there are roster concerns that cannot be overlooked with this Bucks team. 2021 championship heroes Khris Middelton‘s injuries and Jrue Holiday‘s inconsistent offense have to be worrying the franchise.

As long as they have Giannis, they will be in possession of a good record. When it comes to playoff time, we have seen that Giannis cannot do it all alone. The team should be active in the trade market and add some depth to this roster or else Giannis might have to keep putting up big numbers just to keep them competitive, similar to what Luka Doncic is doing on the Dallas Mavericks.
