It seems that all James Wiseman needed to get his NBA career back on track was to leave the Golden State Warriors.

The former 2nd overall pick had one of his best games of the season against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday as he finished with 23 points and 7 rebounds. NBA fans were very impressed by Wiseman’s play as they reacted to his big night.

“I’m glad for him. He can develop without hesitation.” said a fan who is happy Wiseman is now in a situation where he can develop his game.

“Kerr just doesn’t know how to develop talent ‍♂️. He’s okay at managing a super team.” claimed another fan who blames Warriors head coach Steve Kerr for Wiseman’s struggles with the team.

“Must be GSW that’s the problem then.. all them 3s got to their heads, they never even try to feed the post.” said a fan who thinks the Warriors’ system was the problem.

“This was expected. He just needed a role, preferably on a bad team where he can make mistakes.” Tony Kariotis wasn’t surprised by this as he always felt Wiseman just needed a defined role on a rebuilding team.

“Congrats to Wiseman, happy to see him thriving.” said a fan who is just happy to see the big man thriving in his new surroundings.

Wiseman is now in a situation that is best suited for someone like him. He needed to be on a team that wasn’t in a win-now mode like the Warriors but one where young players were allowed to make mistakes and grow from them.

In his 4 games after the trade, he is now averaging 13.0 PPG and 8.0 RPG while shooting 59.0% from the field. Wiseman is also averaging just 23.5 MPG as of now, and we can expect more production out of him as time goes by. While he is unlikely to have too many performances like the one against the Hornets, he should still play a whole lot better than when he was with the Warriors.

Steve Kerr Spoke On Why James Wiseman Struggled On The Warriors

The blame for Wiseman’s struggles has been placed at Kerr’s feet by many. After he was traded, Kerr explained that it was difficult for him to give Wiseman the runway he needed as he was working with a team that had been together for a long time.

He felt that the timing was difficult for Wiseman in terms of what he needed and what the Warriors wanted. Stephen Curry echoed some of what his head coach said as he admitted it was difficult to find minutes for Wiseman. Parting ways was the right thing to do for both parties, but the Warriors might end up regretting their decision a few years down the road.
