  • NBA legend Julius Erving recently shared his list of the top 10 players of all time
  • Erving’s list didn’t include the likes of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, and Stephen Curry
  • NBA fans reacted to Erving’s bizarre list

Julius Erving is undoubtedly one of the greatest basketball players ever. He is an icon in every sense of the word, but Erving raised some eyebrows recently with his bizarre list of the top 10 players of all time

He excluded the likes of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, and Stephen Curry, and it’s safe to say NBA fans weren’t too happy about that.

One couldn’t believe that Tiny Archibald made it over LeBron.

One fan thinks Erving stopped watching basketball in 1998.

Erving is still mad at Larry Bird and hence excluded him here, per one fan.

A fan says he has lost respect for Erving after this.

One fan believes this is just more proof that being good at basketball doesn’t necessarily mean you’re good at analyzing it.

Erving is, of course, entitled to his opinion, but it’s still hard not to be perplexed by this list. One explanation is that he’s just picking players he grew up watching and the ones he played against, but how can Larry Bird not be in there, then? If he’s just excluding him because of their infamous fight in 1984, then it isn’t a great look.

Julius Erving Has Had Some Conflicting Takes On LeBron James

Erving’s opinion of LeBron seems to wildly fluctuate from time to time. Just last year, he had hailed him as the Chosen One and the GOAT, but in 2021, he had left LeBron out of his two all-time teams, as he felt James led the charge in terms of superteams being put together in the NBA.

Going by this, it would hardly be a surprise if Erving praises LeBron the next time we hear from him. As for what James thinks of Dr. J, he evidently was a huge fan of his, at least at one point. When he was asked to name his three best players of all time, LeBron went with Jordan, Bird, and Erving.
