  • NBA 2K24 is now less than a month away from its release
  • The top five shooters from beyond the arc were recently revealed
  • NBA fans reacted to the list, with some being rather unhappy over one exclusion

NBA 2K24 is set to release on 8th September 2023 and excitement is building for the 25th installment of the 2K franchise. With the game’s release now less than a month away, details have started to come out on the very best players in it.

The top 12 players with the highest rating in NBA 2K24 were revealed not long back, with Nikola Jokic taking the top spot. The top five three-point shooters have now also been revealed, with Stephen Curry unsurprisingly at the top.

NBA fans had a rather mixed reaction to this list.

One believes Damian Lillard should be in the top five.

A Nuggets fan wants Nikola Jokic on this list for his phenomenal shooting in the 2023 playoffs.

This is a valid list for one fan.

One fan thinks it is insane that Lillard didn’t make it.

Lillard should be on there as he is the second-best shooter in the league as per one fan.

Let’s take a look at how these players fared from beyond the arc last season, among those who qualified (min 82 three-point field goals made):

Stephen Curry shot 42.7% from three last season, which ranked seventh in the league, while his Golden State Warriors teammate Klay was at 41.2% and ranked 20th. Luke Kennard, meanwhile, led the league in three-point shooting percentage for the second-straight year as he was at an impressive 49.4%.

Buddy Hield was at ninth as he shot 42.5% and lastly, Malcolm Brogdon ranked fourth as he shot 44.4%. If we just go by the numbers, there isn’t any outrageous selection here. One might argue against Klay, but he is undoubtedly one of the greatest shooters ever and was going to be on there.

Who Missed Out Here?

Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Luke Kennard ended up being the only ones from the top five in NBA 2K23 to get in the top five here as well. Kevin Durant and Desmond Bane were the two who didn’t make it, with Durant shooting 40.4% (31st) from three last season while Bane was at 40.8% (26th).

The one exclusion that most fans were up in arms about was Damian Lillard, but the justification there could be that Dame only shot 37.1% from beyond the arc last season. He is definitely one of the greatest shooters ever, with Curry naming Lillard as one of the three best shooters in the NBA today besides himself, but the numbers didn’t back him up in this instance.
