- Austin Reaves debunks myths of wild nightlife
- Austin says he’s never been drunk in his life
- The Lakers will have a big role for AR15 next season
Lakers guard Austin Reaves has been nothing but stellar for the Lakeshow since being drafted in 2021, but last season was an impressive break-out year for him. Averaging 13 points and 3.4 assists per game on 52% shooting, Reaves blossomed into a key contributor for the Lakers and was huge in their run to the Conference Finals.
The secret to success for Austin is his Kobe-like work ethic, which has impressed his coaches and teammates in LA. In fact, as Austin recently shared on the ‘Full Send’ podcast, he doesn’t go out much during the season…
“Everybody that knows me knows that I don’t go out,” said Reaves in response to rumors of him and Taylor Swift. “Everybody was like ‘the funniest part about all this is Austin being at a bar.’ I have never been drunk.”
Part of the allure of being a Laker is the abundance of nightlife activities in the city. As the most populous place in the West, LA is the place to be for the rich and famous and there’s always something to do.
For that reason, players can often find it challenging to stay focused as a Laker and that’s when performance begins to suffer. Reaves is one of the exceptions to this, and his dedication to the craft is no doubt why he’s been able to carve out such a huge role for the Lakers.
Austin Reaves Is The Future In Los Angeles
Thanks to his hard-working mentality, and fearless play in the postseason, Reaves has secured his spot as a pillar of the Lakers franchise. But now, after falling short this past season, Reaves will be counted on to step up his game to another level.
Fortunately, he seems up for the task of working alongside LeBron and AD.
Reaves, 25, will be tasked with running point guard for the team in 2023 and fans have faith that he can fulfill that role for the next few years to come. You see, unlike other players, Austin Reaves doesn’t get distracted by the attractions of the city.
He’s in it to win at all costs, even if it means staying home when everyone else goes out…
