The Boston Celtics have taken a 3-0 series lead in the NBA Finals after beating the Mavericks 106-99 in Game 3. No team has ever overturned a 3-0 series lead in NBA history, so fans are already preparing themselves for the inevitable Celtics’ championship win.

Luka Doncic was roasted relentlessly for his horrible defense in the game.

Kendrick Perkins called out Doncic for his constant complaining to the referees.

Fans are not willing to let this disappointing game from Luka be forgotten.

More fans think Luka’s defense was the cause for their downfall.

Celtics fans were celebrating over Mavs fans after basically guaranteeing a title win.

Fans gave Jaylen Brown his credit for being the favorite to win NBA Finals MVP.

The Celtics two stars showed up in a big way, with Jayson Tatum leading the team with a big first half where he scored 31 points followed by Jaylen Brown’s second-half takeover to end the game with 30 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. Derrick White had an impactful 16 points in the game as well.

Luka Doncic fouled out of an NBA Playoff game for the first time in his career, putting up 27 points while playing really poor defense. Kyrie Irving had a big 35-point performance which wasn’t enough to lead the Mavericks to a win in this crucial game.

Bob Cousy’s Wish Might Come True

The NBA world is reeling from the loss of Jerry West earlier today, as the logo passed away at the age of 86. His passing has sparked a wave of emotional reactions from NBA legends, but one of the most heartbreaking things to hear was Celtics’ legend Bob Cousy talking about how he wants to see the franchise win another title before he passes.

“I’m 95 f*cking years old with one foot in the grave and I can barely move. I know I’m in overtime. So everything in your life becomes more meaningful. And one of the last things I want to be able to see is for the Celtics to hang up banner No. 18.”

Given the impenetrable odds of having a 3-0 series lead in the NBA, it doesn’t look like Cousy will have to wait much longer to see banner No. 18 go up into the rafters. The Celtics will end a 16-year championship drought with this title win and will regain their spot as the team with the most championships in NBA history.

The Mavericks will hope they can become the first team in NBA history to come back from a 3-0 deficit, but the odds of that are slim given the injuries Luka is playing with and how overmatched this Mavs roster looks against the Celtics. This was a great season for them, but they can’t let it end in a sweep.
