NBA Hall Of Famer Says Julius Randle Deserves To Be In The MVP Conversation: “You’ve Gotta Take Him Serious…”

2 Min Read

The New York Knicks are in the middle of a miraculous Cinderella run, After years of dysfunction and chaos within the franchise, they’re installing hope and a winning culture for their team, largely the result of inspiring play that has them on an 8-game win streak in the East.

With Julius Randle leading the effort, it’s no surprise to see the media naming him as a potential MVP candidate.

In fact, following Kendrick Perkins adding Randle’s name to the list, one former Hall of Famer followed suit, declaring that he’s “definitely in that conversation.

“Definitely in that conversation. The translation of Julius Randle and what he’s meant to this team, you’ve gotta take him serious for MVP.”

Nuggets star Nikola Jokic has been at the front of the MVP race since the All-Star break, and many still consider him the favorite.

But with what Randle is doing in New York, averaging 23.9 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game on 46% shooting, it’s not ridiculous to say he deserves consideration.

If the Knickerbockers can keep up their pace, and finish out strong, Julius definitely has a strong case. Though, there is no doubt his focus is on what he and his team will do in the playoffs.
