Sitting at 12th in the East, it’s no surprise the Toronto Raptors are projected to be among the NBA’s biggest sellers this trade deadline.

With the NBA’s most recent Rookie of the Year already in possession of the keys to the team, it’s guys like Gary Trent Jr., Fred VanVleet, and OG Anunoby who find themselves on the block as the deadline approaches.

Regarding OG, specifically, he is probably the most coveted two-way wing player on the market right now, and he is sure to command a massive haul for Toronto.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Raptors could get up to three first-round picks for trading OG this season.

“I think there’s a belief that Toronto could get as many as 3 first-round picks in a deal for O.G. Anunoby if they decided to move him.”

Anunoby is the kind of two-way player that could change the title odds for a team, but giving up three first-round picks for him is a pretty steep price to pay. There is no doubt that it’s been affected by the Rudy Gobert deal.

Which Teams Want To Trade For OG?

While most teams in the NBA would love to have a two-way guy like Anunoby on the roster, only a few teams are really in a position to get him. So far, the Pelicans, Knicks, and Kings are teams that have been identified as possible front-runners.

“Maybe they go all in and consider trading Siakam and Anunoby for what would likely be massive returns of picks and young talent. ‘A s—load’ was the ballpark estimate provided by one league insider. The rest of the league is waiting anxiously.”

The NBA trade deadline is February 9th, and there aren’t a whole lot of sellers in play. Besides the Raptors and Pacers, most teams will be looking to buy in hopes of taking advantage of a wide-open league.

In Toronto, the Raptors may not be ready to give up on their core, but making a move for the future may be what’s best for the franchise long-term, especially if they can get three first-round picks out of it.

It remains to be seen if any team will meet the asking price for OG, but the Raptors will be a team to keep an eye on over the next two weeks as they assess which players need to stay and which players should go.
