Miles Bridges has seen his world turn upside down in a matter of a few days. He was going to head into the free agency period as one of the bigger names potentially in the market who was going to command close to a max contract, but some truly horrifying news emerged less than 24 hours before it began.

Bridges was arrested for felony domestic violence in Los Angeles for hitting his wife, Mychelle Johnson, who later posted images of what she had been through, and it is a very sad sight. These actions from Miles are truly reprehensible, and we can only hope he pays the price for it. His free agency was always going to be affected by it, and it looks like the Charlotte Hornets are ready to completely cut ties with him, as Emiliano Carchia stated that the team is expected to pull the qualifying offer.

It was the right thing to do, and we don’t think any team would want to associate with him after these incidents came to light. He has caused so much pain and suffering to his wife and deserves all that is happening to him right now. The Hornets released a statement in which they said they were gathering additional information, and it remains to be seen how the NBA deals with this situation.

The league has often been praised for tackling social issues, and commissioner Adam Silver is regarded as the best in the business, so we can be assured that they will handle it in the best possible manner. Even if Bridges does manage to avoid jail time, a suspension is very much on the cards, and he’d absolutely deserve it. His actions have almost certainly cost him generational wealth as no team is going to hand him a big contract going forward if and when he comes back.
