Angel Reese’s first signature shoe with Reebok, the Angel Reese 1, will launch on Sept. 18, 2025, and as always, she is aiming for the sky. Reese sat down for an interview with Elle, where she was asked about the future of her relationship with Reebok, and she’s hoping her signature line turns out to be as successful as the Jordans.

“Reebok is back,” Reese said. “We’re bringing back that old-school look, the old-school vibes. People are going to be wearing Reebok everywhere, just like how they wear Jordans everywhere. I want people to wear the Angel Reese 1s everywhere and just to be a household name, to have no limits on what I can do and what I can accomplish.”

Reese signed an NIL deal with Reebok in October 2023 and then agreed to a multiyear extension in October 2024. Her first signature shoe was initially supposed to come out in 2026, but she preponed the release.

“I don’t know when the perfect time would be, because so many great things are happening at once all the time for me…but I know fans have been wondering and asking about it,” Reese stated. “And I know it was supposed to come in 2026, but I thought, Why not now? Why not year two?

“Why not be able to wear my shoe while I’m playing and striving for great things,” Reese continued. “Being able to have the support that I have right now with the fans is really important to me, and I’m trying to maximize everything while I can. This is a really important moment for me right now, and I’m really excited for it to launch.”

Whether you like Reese’s personality and game or not, she is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the WNBA today, as evidenced by her being on the cover for NBA 2K26. The 23-year-old has been an All-Star in each of her first two seasons and has broken various records.

Reese, whom the Chicago Sky selected with the seventh pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, set a new WNBA single-season record for rebounds as a rookie. She is also the fastest in league history to record at least 600 points and 600 rebounds.

Reese had a slow start to her sophomore season, but she managed to bounce back. She currently averages 14.2 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game in 2025, but it remains to be seen if she’ll play again this season as she’s sidelined with a back injury.

Getting back to the shoes, it is certainly possible that they will prove to be a massive hit thanks to Reese’s popularity. As for getting to the point where everyone seemingly wears them like the Jordans, that’s going to be difficult.

The Jordan Brand’s popularity was only bettered by Nike back in 2023. The Air Jordans have become somewhat of a status symbol in sneaker culture now, and Michael Jordan’s legendary status plays a part in that.

Jordan is still generally regarded as the greatest player of all time. He won six titles, six Finals MVPs, five MVPs, one DPOY, and 10 scoring titles in his storied career.

Reese is going to have to go down as a legendary figure herself for her shoes to one day even come close to that. She stated during this interview that winning a WNBA championship was one of her two biggest goals, along with winning a gold medal at the Olympics.

Reese will need to win more than one of those if she wants everyone to wear the Reeses someday.
