Minnesota Timberwolves’ young star Anthony Edwards is ready to enter his third season in the NBA, aiming to improve what he and his team did last season, taking the No. 2 seed in the West to six games in the first round of the playoffs. Now Minnesota is ready to raise the bar and compete for the top spots in the conference and the chance to play in the Finals.

Meanwhile, their star is ready to take his game to the next level and is ready to join the elite of the NBA. Anthony Edwards has always boasted huge confidence, and he’s not stopping making bold claims about himself. During a recent interview, Edwards talked about his expectations in the next couple of seasons, saying he’ll become one of the best players in the league after this season.

He’s shown flashes of being a superstar and if he continues getting better, there’s no doubt he can become a pretty big deal not only in Minnesota but the entire NBA.

With stars like LeBron and KD’s careers coming to an end, the league is looking for that new face. Do you think you can be the face of the NBA?

Oh yeah, 100 percent. Sure. I mean it comes with time and it comes with work and dedication. I feel like I got all three of those things and I feel like it’s going to take me over the top.

On that note, where do you rank yourself amongst the best players in the league? Do you think you still need time to reach to be in that best player category?

Yeah for sure. I need another year. After this year, I think I’ll be in the (best player) conversation.

So after this upcoming season, you’ll be in the convo for best player in the league?

Yeah for sure.

Edwards has always predicted that he’ll make great things happen in the NBA, and his level has improved a lot in the past two seasons. He just needs to stay on that path, get the right help from his teammates and who knows, perhaps he can become the No. 1 option on a championship contender team. He’s not feeling the pressure of becoming the next face of the NBA or one of the best players in the league; this kid is just different.
