John Collins isn't going anywhere after agreeing to a contract extension with the Atlanta Hawks. The big man was linked with several rumors during the 2020/21 NBA season. Still, he ultimately decided to stay put in Atlanta.
The Hawks had a terrific season, reaching the Eastern Conference Finals, losing to the eventual champions Milwaukee Bucks. Although much was said about Collins and his relationship with Trae Young, the player is ready to continue playing alongside the guard, trying to take this team to the promised land.
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports the deal is for five years and $125 million.
Collins demonstrated he can be a key píece for this team, and as long as he's on board, the Hawks will have a chance against everybody.
The team's front office confirmed Nate McMillan as the head coach, Trae also got a big extension, and now Collins secured the bag. This team has a bright future, and next season will be huge for them.
