Russell Westbrook’s one of the greatest point guards of all time, and there’s no doubt that he will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer once he retires. He is well-known for his athletic ability, and during his prime, he was one of the most electric point guards in the NBA.

There is no doubt that Russell Westbrook’s play has inspired a number of young players. In fact, Bronny James has recently claimed that he wears No. 0 because of Russell Westbrook, who is one of his favorite players.

Russell Westbrook being one of Bronny James’ favorite players has been reported before, but it is crazy to think about the fact that he inspired Bronny James to wear No. 0. Hopefully, we see Bronny James have a productive career, and perhaps one day he’ll be as good as Russell Westbrook one day.

Russell Westbrook Being Bronny James’ Favorite Player Could Be A Reason The Lakers Traded For Him

The Russell Westbrook trade was definitely not a good move for the Los Angeles Lakers, as they had to give up a lot to get him. Previously, Skip Bayless claimed that his being Bronny James’ favorite player could be the reason the Lakers picked to acquire him over Buddy Hield.

“I read yesterday Westbrook has been Bronny’s favorite player. Could that be part of the reason LeBron pushed to acquire Westbrook instead of the player Pelinka had a deal for – Buddy Hield? What a mistake that was by LeBron. Wesbrick: So many team-wrecking turnovers & ugly misses.”

Though the trade wasn’t good overall for the Los Angeles Lakers, Russell Westbrook has played much better this season. He has embraced his role as a sixth man, and some believe that Russell Westbrook has managed to save his career as a result of that.

“This will change how people view him,” says a high-ranking team executive. “If he’s willing to be a change-of-pace point guard, to play less minutes, to have defensive energy, top-tier teams are going to be interested in him this summer. The Iverson comparisons are fair. Allen could have played three or four more years if he had been willing to come off the bench. He would have had a field day against second units. Westbrook can do the same.”

There’s no question that Russell Westbrook managing to accept his role has helped him find his fit with the Los Angeles Lakers. The team has also played much better as a result of this.

Hopefully, we see the Los Angeles Lakers make the playoffs. They will need Russell Westbrook to play well to do so, and it is likely that his good performances off the bench will continue.
