Kyrie Irving started the 2022-23 NBA season with most fans doubting his ability to be useful for the Brooklyn Nets. After all, he was unable to keep himself away from controversies. At one point, he was even suspended by the Nets for sharing a link on Twitter to a movie spreading anti-Semitic disinformation.

But since returning from the suspension, Kyrie Irving has proven his worth to everyone. He is currently averaging 26.2 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 4.5 APG. His numbers have helped the Nets in becoming one of the best teams in the NBA right now after a slow start to the season.

On top of that, Irving has shown a great mentality throughout the season, which shows his leadership skills as well.

Joe Tsai’s Reaction To Kyrie Irving’s Putback Dunk Meets With A Reality Check From NBA Fans

Kyrie Irving has one of the deepest skill bags in the NBA. He is an elite point guard, and his handling is, at times, out of the world. But if there’s one thing that we do not see Kyrie attempting is dunks.

Well, Kai showed that he also has that skill in his arsenal. During one particular play against the San Antonio Spurs, Irving threw down a monster putback slam that made everyone burst into applause. In fact, it also pulled an amazing reaction from the owner of the Brooklyn Nets, Joe Tsai.

While Tsai’s reaction was apt for the dunk, NBA fans almost immediately pointed out to the Nets owner that plays like these will only increase Kyrie’s value. After all, the 30-year-old will have a discussion about a potential contract extension with the Nets in the upcoming offseason.

Dunking his way into an extension!

Might be time Joe. Grown men talk. All-star break, close doors, get off social media, air it out, nail out an extension. Big boy pants pic.twitter.com/VRFrdrjjU9

The Nets will certainly have to make a decision about Irving sooner rather than later. After all, the way he is playing, Kyrie is attracting attention from all around the league. The Nets fans will hope that Joe Tsai won’t fumble the opportunity to re-sign him by waiting longer than required.
