The NBA Draft lottery is a pretty big deal for top prospects. While the draft seals their fate as pro-basketballers, the lottery gives the young stars a sense of where they might end up playing for the first chunk of their NBA career.

This year, there is really no question as to who will be the number 1 pick: Oklahoma State point guard, Cade Cunningham.

Just like countless fans all over the world, he was tuned into the draft lottery, and filmed his reaction live when it was revealed that the Detroit Pistons will pick first in the upcoming draft.

The PIstons aren’t regarded as a particularly desirable destination for players. In fact, they’ve had major trouble attracting free agents, which is part of the reason they’ve been irrelevant for so long.

But Cade’s excitement to potentially (probably) land there is really encouraging for the city and the organization. As the top prospect and a star in the making, Cunningham has the potential to really make some noise in the Motor City.

And, for the first time in a while, the Pistons have some real hope for the future. Things are certainly looking up for them, and should only get better after draft day.
