Charles Barkley: “Kevin Durant Went From The Splash Brothers To The Dribble Brothers”

Charles Barkley had a hilarious description of the new trio of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden that is expected to lead the Nets to the NBA Finals after Harden arrived in Brooklyn. Durant has formed another Big 3 in the NBA, the third one he’s been part of in his career. KD will be joined by James Harden and Kyrie Irving now, creating a terrific starting 5. The Nets are expected to make a lot of noise this season, especially after the Harden blockbuster trade.

KD will be playing with two players that need the ball in their hands for a lot of time and that could be a problem for them. Not everybody expects this team to be incredibly good right away, especially knowing that Kyrie and Harden would need to make sacrifices for the team’s sake. It’s going to be different than it was in Golden State for Durantula, where Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Stephen Curry made room for him to be the star of the offense. Barkley reacted to that, giving an epic nickname to the Nets Big 3.

“KD went from the Splash Brothers to the Dribble Brothers,” Chuck said, comparing Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry to Kyrie Irving and James Harden.

Klay and Curry could play off the ball with the Warriors in order to give some space to Durant. As for Harden and Irving, is still unclear how things are going to work for them now. They have big handles and tend to consume a lot of time in every possession. Those are things that Steve Nash needs to figure out if they want to be successful.

Only time will tell how this whole thing will end up but on paper, the Nets look very dangerous.
