The NBA season ended nearly a month ago and basketball fans have been deprived of on-court action since then. The excitement of the offseason is also starting to settle down now after the biggest free agent signed new deals and some big trades took place as well. The situation in Brooklyn remains unresolved, but also seems like a pickle that will take some time to unravel.

In the midst of all this, fans had a fun bit of basketball to watch on Saturday and LeBron James himself, along with DeMar DeRozan, showed off their skills in a Drew League game. Having two stars of that stature made it a must-watch affair and the game itself didn’t disappoint, ending 104-102 in favor of Bron’s team.

The opposition players, even though they played without any NBA-level talent, gave an excellent account of themselves, putting up a tough fight even as Bron dropped highlight play after highlight play on them. And Dion Wright, one of the players who showed out, pointed out the disparity in talent in a response to Bleacher Report’s post showing Bron cooking him.

“He dropped 40 I had 20 for every 2 points he had I had 1 . . . That’s really a once in a lifetime player we had no nba guys they had 2 and only loss by 2 points if bron doesn’t show up we win for sure.”

Wright had 20 points and acquitted himself manfully during the game, putting on a good show for the many fans that turned out to watch the King in action. There is no shame in getting beaten by a Top 5 player in the history of basketball and someone that has firmly put his name in the GOAT conversation. In fact, to have a performance like that against LeBron will surely live long in the memory of Wright and his teammates.
