James Harden is one of the best players in the league. He is one of the most versatile players in the league, able to fit almost anything that a team wants him to do, whether it’s scoring or facilitating. His offensive package is one of the best in the league, and Harden is an amazing shot creator.
Recently, Duncan Robinson has stated that the hardest player to guard for him in the NBA is James Harden. He detailed why James Harden is one of the most difficult matchups in the NBA.
In terms of hardest to guard, I think James Harden has to be up there, for a variety of reasons. One, just because how he plays. You might see him take 10, 12, 15 maybe even dribbles on a given possesion. So, if he has a matchup that he likes… he’s gonna draw you out and take his time. Really keep you on that island.
So I would say James Harden is up there. Then obviously just the firepower right now around him. It’s not like you can really load up to the ball, cause then you’re taking bodies off Kyrie or Durant. I would probably say he is up there for sure, his combination of skill and strength.
James Harden is certainly one of the toughest matchups as a defender in the NBA. His isolation ability is top-tier, and he simply knows how to score. On the Brooklyn Nets, he has had the opportunity to play with other players who can score, allowing him to have less defensive attention focused on him. James Harden is one of the best scorers in the NBA, and it seems like he has the respect of others around the league.
