Despite seeing it on a regular basis, it is hard to comprehend the extent of LeBron James’ longevity. The 4-time NBA champion has been in the league for almost 20 years now and has played at the highest level possible in each of those years. James has been a perennial MVP contender and been a superstar throughout this time.

Over the last few games, LeBron James has been on an incredible run of form, scoring 30+ points in many of them. James is showing, despite being in year 19 of his NBA career, that he is still one of the best players in the NBA, and can be a key player on any NBA team.

One of his former teammates, who played with him in his prime, joked about just how long James can go in his career.

Dwyane Wade posted a screenshot on his Instagram story about LeBron James’ recent form. He joked about wanting to tell his grandchildren that he played with James because James will still be in the NBA when they come.

“I can’t wait to lie to my grandkids and tell them I played with this guy. Because he will still be playing. This is crazy.”

Wade and LeBron James have had a long-standing friendship for many years. Both entered the NBA in 2003, as part of the legendary 2003 NBA Draft class. Surprisingly, it was Dwyane Wade that won the NBA championship first between the duo, winning it in 2006. James was not too far away but had to join Wade to find similar success.

James eventually teamed up with his close friend in Miami, and they went to 4 consecutive NBA Finals together and won 2 straight NBA championships in 2012 and 2013. Wade and James would reunite for a short stint together in Cleveland, during the 2017-18 NBA season.
