Bleacher Report

In San Francisco, Steph Curry is the center of the basketball world. His amazing talents and natural charisma have all helped him rise to prominence over the years, and the Golden State Warriors have reaped many benefits as a result.

But it’s not just Curry that makes things run for Dub Nation.

Klay Thompson and Draymond Green played a critical role in winning the team’s recent Championships, and they deserve much more credit.

In a chat with NBC Sports, former Warriors star Corey Maggette had a lot to say about Klay and Draymond, assuring the world that they’re locks for the Hall of Fame.

“Of course. Without a question,” Maggette said on the latest episode of the Dubs Talk podcast. “If anyone says that they are not, they are stupid. Just being completely honest. These players are champions in this league.”

“These two players, it is almost like a dynasty when you think about the Golden State Warriors team and what they did. I’m from Chicago, so for them to break the Bulls’ record, it is something that I never, ever thought would happen. But they did it, they did it as a team. When you think about the Golden State Warriors,” Maggette concluded, “it’s not just Steph Curry. You have to always put Draymond Green and Klay Thompson in that picture.”

Draymond isn’t as flashy as some of the other guys, but what he brings to the table is critical for the Warriors’ success. As a prime defender, expert playmaker, and passionate enforcer, he sets the tone for his team on both ends of the floor and does a lot of the behind-the-scenes work that makes everything easier for his teammates.

Klay is a different player, but his two-way game makes him the perfect addition for the Warriors. As one of the best shooters in the league, he helps open things up for everyone else, including Draymond and Steph Curry.

Together, both players give Golden State the spark it needs to compete, and, without them, who knows where they’d be. Kudos to Maggette for giving them some love.
