Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the most humble guys in the NBA. The Milwaukee Bucks superstar has done everything he’s wanted to on the court, dominating his competition every year, yet he refuses to be called the best player in the world. Despite being one the most consistent superstars in the league for the past years, Giannis prefers to keep a low profile and let his game do the talk.

In recent days, he showed another example of humble he is when he said he’s not the best player in the world and asked reporters not to call him that. If he’s not the best, then who? Well, Giannis himself has a good response.

During a recent interview, the 2021 NBA champion, who is getting ready to represent his country in the 2022 EuroBasket tournament, showered LeBron James in praise, highlighting James’ consistency and longevity over 19 years of his career.

“It’s interesting to me how LeBron is still [in] one of the best shapes [of] his life and being the best player in the world and still being in year 18,” Giannis told Marca Basket. “Like, that’s really interesting. I want to know how he does that. He’s been consistent for 18 years. He’s always there. He’s always showing up. That’s unbelievable.

“He obviously gets credit, but I think we’ve got to give him more credit. Doing it for 18 years, guys, that’s hard. And hopefully, hopefully I can be there. Hopefully, I can do this for 18 years, 20 years. That’s the goal.”

LeBron James has exceeded expectations ever since he made it to the league. Right now, he’s considered one of the two best players in NBA history, and he’s not showing any signs of slowing down after 19 seasons. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has earned a lot of respect for the way he takes care of himself, which has allowed him to be one of the best players in the league at 37.

Giannis knows how hard that is, and for him, what LeBron has done and keeps doing has earned him the unofficial title of the best player in the world.
