As a 6x All-Star, 2x MVP, and NBA Champion, Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has nothing left to prove. He’s already in the company of all-time legends and his status as a top three player in the world is pretty widely accepted by even his staunchest haters.

But when it comes to longevity and pouring countless resources to maximize performance, it’s alien territory for the Greek Freak.

Speaking on LeBron James and the millions he spends annually to keep himself in the best of shape, Giannis had this to say:

“It’s interesting to me how LeBron is still one of the best shapes in his life and being the best player in the world and still being in year 18,” Antetokounmpo said. “Like, that’s really interesting. I want to know how he does that. He’s been consistent for 18 years. He’s always there. He’s always showing up. That’s unbelievable.”

For Giannis, even the mere thought of how much James spends on conditioning is mind-blowing.

“You gotta spend 1.5 million dollars on your body? I don’t know if I can do that. I’m too cheap for that. No, I’m joking. It’s crazy to me, man. He’s been so consistent. It’s fun to watch. It’s definitely fun to watch.”

It’s no secret that LeBron expends great effort to keep himself effective on the court. As players age, their bodies slow down and get more fragile. While we have seen those aspects in LeBron’s game over these past few years, the fact that he’s still among the best players in the game at 37 years old is pretty incredible.

Obviously, Giannis wants to be like that. But he knows what it takes, and he knows it’s not easy. How James has managed to keep up with his body and conditioning after all these years is no doubt one of his more impressive feats.
