Gilbert Arenas has given some insights into Giannis Antetokounmpo’s situation with the Milwaukee Bucks while explaining what the Greek player needs to do to improve his level and take his team to the promised land. Over the past couple of seasons, Giannis has been great in the regular season but when the playoffs arrive, the player fades.

This has earned him a lot of criticism from fans and Giannis is ready to change that. This season will be very important for him and the organization but he needs to make some adjustments to reach the next level. During a recent conversation with Shannon Sharpe on his podcast, “Club Shay Shay”, Arenas talked about a variety of topics, including Giannis and his ability to make big things for the Bucks.

When asked about what the Greek player needs to improve to win a championship, Arenas said:

“Learn how to play basketball.”

“To be honest, he’s the James Harden of the East Coast. What James Harden is in the West, is what Giannis is there. You have a guy who’s not a point guard, who dominates the ball, and he’s playing one style. And that style is: ‘I’m gonna try to take all the big men who can’t move off the dribble, Euro step and get some dunks.’ That is amazing during the regular season, but when that court gets small you can’t do that anymore.”

Arenas even offered some advice for Giannis, explaining what he could do to take his game to the next level and be even more dangerous when the postseason arrives.

“Unless he learns how to play back-to-the-basket, where, when he gets the ball, teams are actually shifting, now [Khris] Middleton hit three threes, now they’ve gotta play you one-on-one, now you can go score, now you can do those little things.”

Antetokounmpo and the Bucks are under big pressure this season. The Eastern Conference has gotten a lot better with all the moves that every team made during the offseason. Giannis is still young and has a lot of room to improve, but this seems to be a big opportunity to win for him and he shouldn’t miss it.
