Halsey On Danny Green’s Missed Shot: “I Straight Up Sat Thinking Danny Was Gonna Really Redeem Himself There. This Why My Dumba** Went Back To All My Ex Boyfriends For “Closure.”

2 Min Read

As a 2x NBA Champion, Danny Green has more Championship experience than all but two players on the Lakers.

So if anybody on the roster is qualified to help close the deal late in the fourth quarter of an NBA Finals game, it’s Danny — who once broke the league record for most three-pointers ever made in a Finals series.

Unfortunately, Green hasn’t had much luck trying to replicate that performance in L.A. this year. This postseason, Green has been ice cold from beyond the arc, making just 33% of his attempts from beyond the arc.

Last night was the breaking point for many Lakers fans, who berated Green with criticism after he (predictably) missed another shot in the closing seconds of their Game 5 loss. Amidst the chaos on Twitter, famous American singer and social activist “Halsey” joined in on the action by comparing her hope in Danny Green to getting back together with an ex.

Halsey is a huge Lakers fan, going so far as to have a separate Twitter account specifically to react and engage with the basketball community. Last night, after being let down by Green, she was feeling the frustration and anger that most of Lakers Nation was feeling.

The bigger question in all of this, however, is whether or not Green can come alive before it’s too late. The Miami Heat have shown they aren’t to be taken lightly and the Lakers will have to come into Game 6 with nothing held back because if nobody besides AD and LeBron steps up, it could extend this series into a Game 7.

For Danny’s sake, he has to be the reason they end things for good on Sunday — or he could face retribution on a scale never before seen in NBA social media history.
