Stephen Curry is one of the greatest point guards ever, and he is widely regarded as the best shooter to have ever played the game of basketball. He has recently led the Warriors to win the 2022 NBA championship, and this win also got him his first Finals MVP.

On the way to the NBA Finals, Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors defeated Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies. The series went 6 games, and it was a hard-fought, physical series for both teams.

It seems as though Ja Morant has recently decided to pay respect to Stephen Curry, claiming that he is a top 5 player of all time. There’s no doubt that this is a controversial take, but Stephen Curry’s resume is definitely one of an all-time great.

Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies definitely earned the respect of Stephen Curry after their series. Stephen Curry previously admitted that facing the Grizzlies made the Warriors better, and added that the Grizzlies will “be here for a long time”.

I have a lot of respect for every single guy on that team in terms of how they’re built as a group, individual talent. They have a lot of energy, a lot of potential in terms of winning at the highest level. They were the higher seed for a reason, they had an amazing regular season and dominated over the course of the 82 games… There’s definitely respect, there’s definitely an understanding that they made us better, I’m sure we’ve made them better. Who knows what happens down the road, but they’ll be here for a long time just because they have a lot going on for them. Definitely respect.

Hopefully, we see another series between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Golden State Warriors in the future. That second-round series was one of the best in this year’s playoffs, and more games between the two teams in a playoff setting would make for must-watch basketball.

Stephen Curry is clearly the best point guard in the world, but Ja Morant may get that honor in the future. Morant has a bright future in the league, and he is only getting started with his career.
