James Harden is getting ready to make his debut with the Philadelphia 76ers tonight after another rocky exit from his prior team. This time, he's teaming up with Joel Embiid in the City of Brotherly Love and those two look like a lot of fun together.
They've been learning from each other since Harden made it to Philly a couple of weeks ago. The big man and the guard have been compared to Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant, so you know the expectations for them are really high.
That doesn't seem to be a problem for them though, as Harden and Embiid have been in great spirits, trying to learn as much as possible of their counterpart, although some things haven't worked so far.
In recent hours, they were spotted at the gym, playing a little 1-on-1 game, with Joel giving Harden the business. The Cameroonian big man took on Harden at the post, stopping him from scoring in his first attempt.
Then, it was Embiid's turn and he didn't miss the first attempt. Just like he does in actual games, Joel made a beautiful fadeaway to beat Harden the first time. After that, he tried to complete the move again but failed.
It's great to see these two are getting along this well, especially after Embiid's failed relationship with Ben Simmons. The Cameroonian knows that having chemistry is important if a team wants to win a championship, and he's as much or hungrier than Harden.
Tonight, we'll get to see how these two play together, as Harden makes his debut for the Sixers. If this team was already dangerous, now things will be scary for the rest of the NBA.
