The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked with a series of players recently who could take their game to the next level. After two poor offseasons when their decisions didn’t pay off, the Purple and Gold might be getting ready to land a couple of guys that can help LeBron James and Anthony Davis win another championship.

In recent weeks, an 8-man list was revealed showing all the targets the team has right now, which included incredible names that can definitely put them back in contention. Among their candidates, Jordan Clarkson and Myles Turner were also mentioned in past or recent reports.

These two could be a great addition to the Lakers, especially in the paint, and to have another scoring option besides James and Davis. If recent developments have something to do with this possibility, then the Lakers are in for a treat.

Jordan Clarkson And Myles Turner May Be Looking For A New Team

NBA insider Marc Stein reports that both Jordan Clarkson and Myles Turner have turned down long-term extensions with the Utah Jazz and Indiana Pacers, respectively, which opens the door for potential trades regarding these players.

Myles Turner, to this point, has rebuffed Indiana’s contract extension offers, league sources say. Ditto for Jordan Clarkson in Utah, where sources say the Jazz came into the season hopeful of securing a new long-term deal with Clarkson before he becomes a free agent this summer. There are teams out there naturally hoping that Turner or Clarkson (or both) will be in play for trades before the deadline. I don’t see the Jazz trading Clarkson; Turner’s situation continues to be harder to read.

Stein claims that the Jazz are unlikely to trade Clarkson, so that appears to be off the table for the Lakers, who could still make a run for him in the summer. The same goes for Turner, but these players won’t come to LA or anywhere else for a cheap price.

The Lakers, anyway, were recently linked with a move for Kyrie Irving in the 2023 NBA offseason, which would be a huge move for them. Still, this is only speculation, and we’ll have to wait for a little before learning about what these teams and players are going to do.
