The Los Angeles Clippers visited the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night in a big duel to close out another week of the 2022-23 NBA season. The Clips landed in Philly hopeful of getting a big win against their former head coach’s team, but Doc Rivers had the last laugh, beating Los Angeles 119-115.

Kawhi Leonard had a great night, posting 28 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists, being the second-highest scorer on the court. Joel Embiid stole the show with 44 points, showing the way for his Philadelphia 76ers

It was a very entertaining duel between two teams trying to climb positions in their respective conferences. The Los Angeles Clippers couldn’t do much against them, though, and ended the night with a big loss that brought their record to 19-15.

Kawhi Leonard Wasn’t Happy With Clippers’ Performance Against 76ers

Following the match, Kawhi had some things to get off his chest and went off on his teammates’ performances on both sides of the ball, as well as some of the tactics used to try to stop the Sixers. Both his teammates and head coach were criticized by Leonard, who felt they could do so much more to win this match.

“I think it was more transition defense. We allowed them to have a lot of open looks. And then the offense got pretty stagnant after the first half.”

Leonard is looking better every game, and he doesn’t want his team to make silly mistakes that cost them victories. He’s ready to start dominating again, but the Clips need to step up if they want to finish the regular season as a top-4 team.

Kawhi’s health appears to be good after all and that’s great news for the Clippers. However, they still have things to improve and these games against difficult rivals should help them see where they need to keep working and how far they are from the top squads in both conferences.
