Kendrick Perkins Says Ja Morant Is A Combination Of Russell Westbrook, Kyrie Irving, And Rajon Rondo

2 Min Read

Ja Morant is one of the best young point guards in the league. Morant is a player who uses his athleticism to his advantage, often trying in-game poster dunks. At the same time, athleticism isn’t his only asset: he has a pretty smooth handle and an eye for setting up his teammates. Ja Morant is already one of the best young point guards in the league, and he still has a long career ahead of him.

For every player that comes into the league, there will be comparisons to other players that came before. This is no different for Ja Morant. Basketball analyst Kendrick Perkins has recently stated that Ja Morant reminds him of 3 different point guards, all of whom were stars. Perkins listed Russell Westbrook, Kyrie Irving, and Rajon Rondo as the players who Ja Morant reminds him of.

Ja Morant looks like he will have a good career ahead of him. Morant has the tools to become as good as the aforementioned players, although it is far too early to say that he’ll be a future legend. Kyrie Irving and Rajon Rondo have both been point guards on championship squads, and Russell Westbrook’s mind-boggling numbers speak for themselves. To get on their level, Ja Morant needs to bring the Grizzlies to the playoffs, and it looks like he will have the opportunity to do so this season.

Ja Morant is a talented player who has a competitive fire about him, and one can see aspects of the greats that Perkins mentioned in his game. Hopefully, Morant can continue to improve and become a superstar on the Grizzlies.
