Kendrick Perkins Selects His Top 5 Best Point Guards Of All-Time: ‘Steph Curry Is Not A True PG!’

2 Min Read

Kendrick Perkins has gotten used to making bold claims when he gives his opinion about current or past subjects in the NBA. However, he took things to another level on Thursday, when he tried to list his top 5 point guards of all time.

These kinds of lists will never please people; some can say this one is better than this other, but Perk did the unthinkable, bringing people together to defend one of the best players in the history of the game. The former big man took to Twitter to reveal his top 5 list of PGs, going with Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, John Stockton, Chris Paul and Gary Payton.

There is a big name missing from that list, Stephen Curry. Steph has been one of the best players in the world in the last decade and he’s widely considered as one of the greatest point guards in NBA history. Fans were quick to attack Perkins, asking how he could leave Steph out of the list, as well as other current NBA stars.

Making these types of lists will always be controversial. Perk knows that, but the NBA community reaffirmed that on Thursday. He then replied saying Curry isn’t a true point guard but a ‘hybrid’, stating the Warriors superstar will finish his career as one of the best 20 players in NBA history.

Curry is considered the best shooter of all time and some times people have a hard time labeling him as a pure point guard. Still, things are simple for fan and they made sure to let Perkins know.
