Kevin Durant is one of, if not the best player in the NBA today. The two-time NBA champion is considered one of the game’s greatest scorers ever, and a mercurial talent playing some of the best basketball of his career. But one NBA analyst thinks that Durant has always been overshadowed by one other star in his career, and has never been the best player in the league.

NBA analyst Nick Wright took to Twitter after the Bucks-Nets game to talk about the rivalry between Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant. He said that he feels bad for Durant, who was always considered second-best behind LeBron James and is now second-best behind Giannis. Durant hilariously responded to Wright, noting that there is nothing to feel bad about for ‘the god’ and that it is an incredible life.

Nick Wright: I legit feel for KD… he had to be 2nd best to LeBron for a decade and the MOMENT he might’ve passed LeBron, Giannis passed him. 2nd player out of high school. 2nd pick in the draft. 2nd best player in the NBA for life. Legit awful luck.

Wright was quite patronizing towards Kevin Durant in his Tweet, and KD responded by being sarcastically nice to Wright. This isn’t the first time Wright has said something sly about Durant. Just this past week, Wright took to Twitter to sarcastically congratulate Kevin Durant for having one more 40-point game than the number of 50-point games LeBron James has this season.

Wright is not the only media personality that Durant targeted recently. KD also vented his frustration over the way NBA insiders converted his free-agency saga in 2019, while he was with the Golden State Warriors contending for an NBA championship. Durant has never been shy about calling out the media when he feels that they are in the wrong.
