Kyrie Irving is an amazing athlete on the court, and he is an electric scorer who is must-watch basketball when he has it going. There is no doubt that many people admire him for his basketball ability.

Despite his talent, there are a lot of people who dislike Kyrie Irving for the way that he acts and holds himself. In particular, he has beefed with Boston Celtics fans, even comparing them to a “scorned girlfriend”.

Kyrie Irving on the boos in Boston: “Its like a scorned girlfriend, asking for an explanation why I left but still wanting a text back.”

Recently, Kyrie Irving has clapped back at his haters while streaming GTA on Twitch, likening them to “cockroaches”. It is clear that Kyrie Irving has no time for people who hate him.

“‘Go back to Cleveland, oh my God, Boston hates you, oh my God.' That’s how y’all sound to me, cockroaches.”

It’s but so long you can say the same jokes. ‘Ooh Kyrie, what are you doing at home?’ That’s how y’all sound to me. “Oh, what are you doing at home, are you going to Cancun?”… ‘Go back to Cleveland, oh my god, Boston hates you, oh my god.’ That’s how y’all sound to me, cockroaches.

It is fair to say that a lot of talking points about Kyrie Irving are universal among fans. A lot of people have criticized him for underperforming in this year’s playoffs, and obviously the joke Kyrie Irving mentions about Boston refers to the hate he gets from Celtics fans. Some of those things are valid, but oftentimes, Kyrie Irving does receive a lot of vitriol from fans.

With that being said, the haters may have to be silent next year, as the Brooklyn Nets look set to be a force in the Eastern Conference. Ben Simmons, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving are an elite big 3, and we’ll see just how far they can go next season.
