Kyrie Irving is one of the best players in the league, and there’s no doubt that he’s an electric player when he has it going. He has the best handle in the league and is well-known for being a fantastic shot-creator.

Despite his abilities on the basketball court, there are definitely fans that dislike Kyrie Irving. Boston Celtics fans generally are among that group, due to Kyrie Irving’s actions towards the franchise when he was there, and after he left. Notably, Kyrie Irving stomped on the Boston Celtics logo last season after a big performance, which has led to a lot of criticism from fans and analysts alike.

Recently, Kyrie Irving received boos during the matchup between the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets. Celtics fans chanted “Kyrie sucks” during the game, and it is clear that they are still not fond of him.

Kyrie Irving has recently commented on the reception he received from the Boston Celtics crowd, likening it to a “scorned girlfriend” who is “asking for an explanation” about why he left.

Kyrie Irving on the boos in Boston: “Its like a scorned girlfriend, asking for an explanation why I left but still wanting a text back.”

There is no doubt that Kyrie Irving isn’t happy with the boos from the Boston Celtics fan. Kyrie Irving left the Boston Celtics in free agency after previously verbally committing to the franchise, so it’s easy why some people are upset with him among the fanbase.

Kyrie Irving will likely now focus on trying to help the Brooklyn Nets get more wins in the upcoming days and solidify their status as a play-in tier team. Generally, most people would consider them the most talented team in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament, especially when fully healthy. Hopefully, we’ll see them figure things out, and string together some wins ahead of the postseason.
