Amid coronavirus concerns and a shut-down of all NBA activities, LeBron James is using the extra time to help the Akron community.

Using his signature “Taco Tuesday” tradition, James provided a meal for over 1,300 people through the LeBron James Family Foundation.

Taco Tuesday took on a new meaning yesterday as James and the LeBron James Family Foundation fed 340 I Promise School students and their families chicken and beef tacos, rice, beans and tortillas with all the fixings. He also helped an Akron, Ohio, restaurant that has been affected by coronavirus.

Call it a special edition of Taco Tuesday, and it will happen again next week, when the foundation delivers even more meals to Akron families connected to James’ I Promise program.

The “Taco Tuesday” movement originated by LeBron as early as last season when he would routinely post his Tuesday night Taco dinner on Instagram live.

He recently brought back the tradition after a mini-hiatus.

It’s great to see LeBron spreading some love and joy for the kids and families in his I Promise School. As restaurants, schools, and businesses close worldwide, it’s more important than ever that people step up to help.
