Dennis Schroder’s 32-point outing to orchestrate the Los Angeles Lakers 112-109 win against the Miami Heat drew a special one-word praise from LeBron James.

The guard led from the front with another 30-point game, his second of the season, coupled with four boards and 2 assists. He was ably assisted by Russell Westbrook and Thomas Bryant who had 21 points each.

James, who missed the clash due to a non-COVID illness, took to Twitter to have his say on Schroder’s outing after the Lakers’ third-straight win.

Schroder returned to the Lakers for his second stint this offseason and has had a few impact performances after missing a chunk of games due to a thumb injury. At the time of writing, he’s averaging 11.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists.

This one perhaps makes it the best yet as he led the side to their win despite missing the services of James and Anthony Davis.

LeBron James Has Been On A Tear, But Can The Los Angeles Lakers Go The Distance?

While he’s had his share of injuries and illnesses, LeBron James still proved he’s got what it takes to single-handedly carry a team. His last two games were dominant 40+ point performances and he averages 29.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.6 assists.

With Davis sidelined due to a stress fracture and working his way to take the floor sometime by the end of January, the onus to be the primary scoring option falls on James. And while he’s been on a tear, the Purple and Gold still need more from the remainder of the roster.

The win without the two main components serves as a much-needed confidence booster, especially after James’ blunt postgame comments in the side’s defeat against the Heat last week.

“I don’t wanna finish my career playing at this level from a team aspect,” said James after the game. “I still want to compete for championships. I know what I can bring to any ball club with the right pieces. I’m a winner and I want to win. And I want to win and give myself a chance to win and still compete for championships,”

With the trade deadline approaching, the Lakers could do well to upgrade their current outfit with a couple of players who could help James and Davis make the playoffs at the very least. On the game front, LA plays the Atlanta Hawks at home next.
