LeBron James continues to prove why he’s not only an enduring basketball icon but also a social media phenomenon. In the 2024-25 season, LeBron is the most-viewed NBA player on social media, racking up an incredible 623 million views across platforms. Even at nearly 40 years old, James’s unparalleled star power shows no signs of waning, with his digital presence eclipsing younger stars and cementing his position as the league’s most influential figure.

1. LeBron James – 623 million views

2. Ja Morant – 538 million views

3. Victor Wembanyama – 402 million views

4. Stephen Curry – 350 million views

5. LaMelo Ball – 237 million views

6. Giannis Antetokounmpo – 227 million views

7. Klay Thompson – 189 million views

8. Nikola Jokic – 182 million views

9. Jayson Tatum – 175 million views

10. Anthony Davis – 169 million views

Trailing James is Ja Morant, whose electrifying playing style and off-court storylines generated 538 million views. Victor Wembanyama, the NBA’s rising superstar, occupies the third spot with 402 million views, showcasing the global fascination with his unique skill set and generational talent.

Stephen Curry, a perennial fan favorite, ranks fourth with 350 million views, while LaMelo Ball rounds out the top five at 237 million, his flashy game and off-court persona continuing to captivate audiences.

Notably absent from the top 10 list is Kevin Durant, a player once considered among the league’s most marketable stars. Durant’s omission is surprising, given his impressive career achievements and presence on championship-caliber teams. His reduced visibility on social media could be attributed to his reserved personality compared to the dynamic, headline-grabbing profiles of players like James and Morant.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks’ powerhouse forward, ranks sixth with 227 million views, underscoring his global appeal and continued dominance on the court. Klay Thompson, known for his sharpshooting and affable personality, secured seventh place with 189 million views, ahead of three-time MVP Nikola Jokic at 182 million. Jokic’s understated demeanor might contribute to his lower social media traction, but his consistent on-court brilliance ensures a dedicated following.

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum claims ninth place with 175 million views, his mix of skill and charisma resonating with fans. Anthony Davis rounds out the top 10 with 169 million views, his resurgence this season alongside LeBron boosting his digital footprint.

LeBron’s dominance on social media is a testament to his longevity and ability to stay culturally relevant across multiple generations of fans. Whether it’s a highlight reel dunk, post-game commentary, or glimpses into his family life, LeBron’s content consistently resonates with millions. His narrative is a blend of athletic excellence, personal connection, and larger-than-life presence, making him the most followed and viewed NBA player.

Meanwhile, Durant’s absence from this list may prompt questions about how his off-court branding has evolved. Durant has often used social media platforms like Twitter for candid interactions, but this approach doesn’t appear to translate into the same broad viewership enjoyed by his contemporaries. It suggests that engaging and dynamic content is vital to maintaining relevance in the ever-changing social media landscape.

As the NBA’s digital age continues, players like LeBron James set the standard for balancing athletic greatness with global marketability. His unmatched popularity reinforces why he remains the face of the league, even as younger stars rise to prominence. For Durant, the challenge lies in reestablishing his digital presence to remain part of this conversation.
