LeBron James became really good friends with Kobe Bryant during the time they spent in the league and their Team USA times over the years. The King and the Black Mamba were never the same players, but their way to approach the game was very similar; they only cared about winning and that was exactly what they needed to create a deep bond.

James didn’t know that was actually going to happen and he recently revealed he was just impressed the first time he got to share the court with Kobe Bryant 17 years ago when the King was only starting his NBA career with the Cleveland Cavaliers. James revealed he had a collage of Kobe’s pics in his room before he actually played with the Los Angeles Lakers legend.

Talking about the first time he met the 5x NBA champion on the court, LeBron said:

“I was just in awe. It’s a guy who along with a lot of other guys that was on my wall. … He had a nice collage on my wall.”

LeBron on what he remembers from the first time he played Kobe: "I was just in awe. It's a guy who along with a lot of other guys that was on my wall. … He had a nice collage on my wall."

Kobe’s death first anniversary around the corner and it’s hard not to remember the player and the big hole he left in the world that January 26, when he was killed in a helicopter crash with his daughter Gianna and seven other people.

Everybody has paid respect to Kobe during these days and this will continue happening. He left a big mark on the game and the world and LeBron’s history is the biggest proof of that. He continues carrying Bryant’s legacy with the Lakers and their fans can’t be happier about it. These two never hesitated to give flowers to each other, showing the big respect they had and their great relationship.
