LeBron James equaled Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record for most All-Star selections in NBA history.

This milestone comes as one of his stellar achievements as he closes in on the latter’s record for most points scored in the league. James is now tied with the center as he gears up to make his 19th appearance in the All-Star Games.

Abdul-Jabbar has the same number of appearances, and while at it, James also surpassed the late Kobe Bryant (18). The other names on the decorated list include Tin Duncan, Kevin Garnett, and Shaquille O’Neal.

Most All-Star selections in NBA history:

LEBRON JAMES – 19

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar – 19

Kobe Bryant – 18

Tim Duncan – 15

Kevin Garnett – 15

Shaquille O’Neal – 15

His selection as a starter is not surprising considering his production at 38. The veteran averages 29.9 points per game, 8.5 rebounds, and 7.0 assists this season, and earned a whopping 7.4 million votes.

LeBron James And Giannis Antetokounmpo Are Set To Lead the West And The East Teams Respectively

The starters for the West and the East were revealed on Thursday and by nature of the votes, James and Giannis Antetokounmpo are set to lead the sides.

Joining James are Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, and Zion Williamson rounding out the rest of the West starters. Meanwhile, the ‘Greek Freak’ has Jayson Tatum, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Donovan Mitchell in his squad.

On the season front, James has been a force for the Lakers although the results haven’t really gone in their favor. He might be inching closer to becoming the top-scorer in the NBA, but there’s no denying that he has sights set on another title.

The Lakers are placed 13th in the West with a 23-26 record and are yet to hit the .500 mark. Their playoff aspirations received a major boost with Anthony Davis’ return, but there’s no doubt that all eyes will be on James as he continues to churn out impeccable performances and cement his case as one of the greatest players to have ever played the sport.
