On “UNDISPUTED” Tuesday morning, FOX Sports analyst Ric Bucher made a shocking claim about Ja Morant.

According to the basketball expert, he has a better chance of becoming the face of the NBA than 2x MVP Steph Curry, who Bucher says never quite reached that status in his career.

“He has a better chance than Steph Curry who never became the face of the league. Ja has a dynamic aspect to his game and that’s why I believe he has a chance to be something Steph Curry was not,” Ric Bucher said

At just 22-years-old, Ja Morant has emerged as one of the best young players in the league. Through 49 games, he’s averaging 27.6 points, 6.6 assists, and 5.9 rebounds per game on 49% shooting.

The Grizzlies, who were rebuilding just two years ago, are a top 4 team in the West and have a 43-20 record.

Already, Morant is drawing some pretty significant comparisons.

“You know who you can call Ja Morant right now, ladies and gentlemen? You can call him Kevin Durant,” said Stephen A. Smith. “Why would I bring up Kevin Durant? Like Kevin Durant, Ja Morant was the No. 2 overall pick. Like Kevin Durant, he’s going to be the guy that we’re talking about. And as The No. 2 overall pick who had a No. 1 overall pick that was perpetually injured, Ja Morant and Kevin Durant’s careers are actually mirroring one another to this point in Ja Morant’s career because of where they were drafted, who was drafted ahead of them and what they’re doing on the court. And that’s why I said, when I think of Ja Morant, I also think of Kevin Durant.”

Coming out of Murray State, Morant wasn’t given nearly the same amount of hype as some of his peers. Guys like Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett, and Darius Garland hoarded much of the spotlight.

Now, it’s Ja who is making all the noise and everybody has taken notice of his game.

It’ll be an exciting era for the NBA and the Grizzlies as this young stud blossoms into the generational talent we’ve all been waiting for.
