The Cleveland Cavaliers pulled off an incredible move today after trading for Utah Jazz All-Star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell. While Spida was heavily linked with a move to the New York Knicks and Miami Heat, it was the Cavaliers who worked in silence and ultimately landed the player, who now puts them in a favorable position to compete in the East.
Many people are shocked to know that the Cavs actually deceived everybody, as a recent report claimed they removed themselves from this race and the Knicks were clear-cut favorites to win Mitchell’s services, but the reality is far away from that. Cleveland is sending Collin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen, Ochai Agbaji, three first-round picks, and two pick swaps to the Utah Jazz for Donovan Mitchell.
This is a big move for the Cavs, who still have a terrific squad to face the 2022/23 NBA season. As usual, NBA fans had a lot to say about this, joking about the move, trolling the Knicks and the Heat, while others praised the Cavs and predicted a great season for them.
NBA Fans React To The Donovan Mitchell Blockbuster Trade
This was unexpected, knowing how things had been developing in recent days, and fans’ reactions are the biggest proof of that. Many people couldn’t understand what happened between these teams and how the Knicks fumbled the bag and opened the door for the Cavaliers to acquire Donovan.

Let me tell you something. This deal was Danny Ainge just trying to show teams he’s willing to deal elsewhere. He is not more happy with this deal than one he would’ve gotten from NY. The Knicks set a great tone across the league. Let Danny Ainge get less. Don’t let him rob you.

This is a great move for the Cavs, who now will have to live up to the expectations. Mitchell takes this team to the next level and when you add in the likes of Darius Garland and Evan Mobley, they look like a dark horse contender in the East. Things are looking great in Cleveland, but now the competition will get really hard.
Following play-in participation, last season, be ready because the Cavs can keep surprising a lot of people.
