The Los Angeles Lakers can’t seem to catch a break this season. After a rough start to the 2022-23 NBA season, the Lakers seemed to finally be making a comeback this season. The credit, of course, goes to the dynamic duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
But just when things were starting to get good for the Purple and Gold, Anthony Davis suffered an injury. After an inspection of his injury, he was expected to miss a few weeks. However, according to recent reports, AD could be out of action for two or even three months.
Considering the Lakers are currently 13-17, things can’t get any worse for the franchise. After all, they now have to put all their hopes on a soon-to-be a 38-year-old LeBron James.
Anthony Davis’ Injury Concern Draws Frustrated Reactions From Fans
Prior to getting injured, Davis was making a strong case for being in contention to win the MVP award. He was averaging 27.4 PPG, 12.1 RPG, and 2.6 APG while shooting 59.3% from the field. NBA insider Brian Windhorst recently provided an update about Davis’ injury, and it was certainly not good.
Brian Windhorst on Anthony Davis’s injury:
“It’s not good. It’s not a sprained ankle. It’s not a sprained foot from what I understand. It’s something a little more concerning than that.”

Upon hearing this news, Lakers fans were understandably upset and couldn’t believe their bad fortune. On the other hand, many fans also trolled Anthony Davis for getting injured once again.

In all honesty, as tall and gifted as he is, he’s not built for basketball. Especially not an 82 game season!

As expected, a few fans showed support for Davis, and the majority just trolled him for getting injured. Either way, the only certain thing right now is the fact that the Lakers’ chances of advancing to the 2023 NBA playoffs are hanging by a thread. Unless James can miraculously turn the clock back and carry the team on his back for the time span until Davis returns, it feels like the Purple and Gold’s season is already over.
