NBA Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers And New York Knicks Could Target Caris LeVert

Caris LeVert is one of the best players on the Indiana Pacers. He’s a capable guard that can set up his teammates well, but he also provides shot creation in the midrange as well as some ball-handling ability. Currently, LeVert is averaging 17.7 PPG, 3.2 RPG, and 4.0 APG.

Naturally, a player of Caris LeVert’s caliber has received some trade interest ahead of the deadline. Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report has recently revealed that the New York Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers have inquired about acquiring LeVert. Fischer added that the Indiana Pacers want multiple first-round picks for the shooting guard.

Caris LeVert has known suitors in Cleveland and New York, but so far Indiana has requested multiple first-round picks for the 27-year-old guard as well, sources said.

The Indiana Pacers were reportedly willing to move Caris LeVert among some other veterans such as Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis to start a rebuilding process. It thus makes sense that they’d try and get multiple first-round picks for LeVert, as draft capital can help them draft young players on cost-controlled contracts and then develop them.

Caris LeVert could be a good offensive player for both the New York Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The New York Knicks haven’t had the best year, but perhaps Caris LeVert could help them make a push for the play-in tournament. The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired Rajon Rondo to make up for their lack of guard options, but Caris LeVert could be another good trade option considering Ricky Rubio and Collin Sexton are out for the season.

It remains to be seen what will happen with Caris LeVert. It is plausible that the Pacers will keep him on the roster, but there’s clearly interest from opposing teams. Perhaps we’ll see more talk regarding a potential move closer to the trade deadline.
