Paul George On His Legendary Photo With The Flexing Kid: “I Do Not Remember That Little Kid… You Know What, As Long As He Remembers That Moment, That’s All That Matters. We Shared That Moment Together.”

On the floor, the euphoria can be overwhelming, which is why some of the players do not remember things that happened as the adrenaline pumps through their veins. That was the case in the Los Angeles Clippers 117-109 victory against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, November 9, as Paul George completely forgot about a moment he shared with a kid as the game was on.

George just drilled a fadeaway jumper over Damian Lillard with under two minutes to go in the fourth quarter and capitalized on the and-1 opportunity after he was fouled by Norman Powell. After he made the basket, he looked straight ahead, and a kid was flexing right in front of him.

Although he shared the moment with the fan, showing as much enthusiasm, PG forgot that exchange happened during the game. In the post-game presser, George was asked if he remembered that moment, he had this to say:

“I do not remember that little kid. Y’all photoshopped that. Am I looking at him? I do not remember that little kid… You know what, as long as he remembers that moment, that’s all that matters. We shared that moment together.”

As the conversation continued, he added:

“It’s no slight on the kid,” George said. “Sometimes I’ll be so lost in the games that I don’t really know what’s going on outside that rectangle. Sorry kid.”

Even so, it is a moment the kid will remember for a long time.

Reggie Jackson also had a good laugh about the moment despite missing the action in real-time. He expressed his happiness to have the fans back in the arena.

“Ha, I wish I saw it, but hopefully I get to definitely see it in film. I’m definitely gonna be looking for it — was he on our baseline… I’m gonna have to look for that. That might be why Paul was flexing so hard, we were all feeling the moment.”

George ended the game with a team-high 24 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. Nicolas Batum and Jackson were also significant contributors, recording 22 and 23 points, respectively.
