Dennis Schroder has recently signed with the Los Angeles Lakers on a one-year, $2.64 million deal. There is no doubt that he’ll help the team with his ballhandling, scoring, and perimeter defense. This past season, Dennis Schroder averaged 13.5 PPG, 3.3 RPG, and 4.6 APG.
Upon the news of his return breaking, Dennis Schroder sent a message to the Los Angeles Lakers fans, claiming that he’s coming back to the team to make things “right”, adding that he will give everything he has “every single day”.

Rob Pelinka Is Happy To Have Dennis Schroder Back
It seems as though Rob Pelinka is ready to have Dennis Schroder back with the team as well. When reacting to the news being made official, he noted that Dennis Schroder will give them depth and an “on-ball defensive presence”, adding that he’s a “proven scorer and playmaker” as well.
Pelinka 2/2: “… and an on-ball defensive presence to our core at the guard position. He is also a proven scorer and playmaker. We are really excited for Dennis to get to camp and get back to work in L.A. after his highly successful run with his national team this offseason.”

We are extremely pleased to welcome Dennis back to the Lakers. Not only do Dennis and Coach Ham share a player-coach history together, but they also reflect one another’s mentality of toughness with an extremely competitive edge. Dennis will add both depth and an on-ball defensive presence to our core at the guard position. He is also a proven scorer and playmaker. We are really excited for Dennis to get to camp and get back to work in L.A. after his highly successful run with his national team this offseason.
Hopefully, we see Dennis Schroder carve out a prominent role with the Los Angeles Lakers. There is no doubt that he could potentially be a solid third option from a scoring perspective next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
However, Dennis Schroder will likely have to compete with Russell Westbrook for that starting point guard position in the future. We will see who wins out, but Dennis Schroder will likely be able to contribute, whether he’s starting or coming off the bench.
