Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley have an extremely unique relationship. The two were rivals in the 90s when both were stars, and are among the best players to play the game of basketball. Since Shaq joined the crew on Inside the NBA on TNT, they’ve had their share of arguments while also providing the fans with some of the most hilarious moments in sports television.

What makes their relationship special is that they can both indulge in quite a bit of banter with one another while still having the utmost respect for each other at the same time. And they often get asked about their relationship in other interviews they do as well. In a recent interview with Stephen Colbert, Shaq had another hilarious moment that Chuck will surely get him back for soon.

Shaq was answering a series of questions from the talk show host when he was asked what he thinks happens when humans die. And Shaq gave a typically honest answer before dropping a zinger about Barkley:

(starts at 3:37 minutes)

Stephen Colbert: “What do you think happens when we die?”

Shaquille O’Neal: “Nobody knows. Heaven? Barkley’s going to hell, so… Heaven? I’m going to heaven.”

In fairness to Shaq, it was quite a deep question for a light interview, so it’s no surprise that he found a way to turn it around and make it funny. O’Neal’s confidence in himself is also on display here, it’s so Shaq to assume that he would make it to heaven.

Barkley currently has bigger problems on his plate, he is beefing with the San Francisco fans as the Golden State Warriors vs. Dallas Mavericks series carries on. But Shaq is likely to hear about it from Barkley soon enough though, not much slips Chuck’s notice when it comes to roasting people.
