Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are having a splash in the land of the rising sun, just that it’s not on the basketball court. Ahead of the preseason games against the Washington Wizards, the duo was seen trying to Sumo wrestle and having a good time, despite failing to move their opponent.
In clips that did the rounds on social media, Curry was seen taking on Pro Sumo wrestler, Hakuho Sho, but couldn’t push him much. “I can’t push him,” he said laughing, and then called it: “That’s all I got.” It was the same with Thompson who tried his best, only to fail and crack a smile, saying, “He’s too strong.”
Needless to say, it was a good time for the players off the court as they gear up for their scrimmage which is part of the NBA Global Games Series.

From Pictures to Signing Jerseys, The Warriors Had Their Work Cut Out
The fun continued as the team also clicked pictures at the Tokyo Tower, and signed autographs on player jerseys leading up to the two games slated for later this week. Upon landing, Curry remarked that he was ready.
“Flight was cool. Got to watch some movies, took a couple of naps, getting ready to go. I’m locked in,” he said, before proceeding to sign autographs.
Here are some snippets of the Warriors’ and Wizards’ time off the hardwood in Tokyo:
Per the San Francisco Examiner, the side received a warm welcome from fans, with one of the fans calling Draymond Green the “Most Valuable Podcaster.” The veteran also relived the last time he was in Japan.
“Last time, I was here, you know, winning a gold medal. We’re here to kick off the next tour to the next gold trophy.”
The Warriors take on the Wizards at the Saitama Stadium on Friday and play their second on October 1. They take on the Los Angeles Lakers in their season opener in a home game on October 18.
