Stephen Curry Calls Out Grant Williams At ESPYS: “I Might Let You Wear My Ring”

Stephen Curry is not letting anyone who tried beefing with him slide after the Warriors became NBA Champions. While most winners take a ‘what’s done is done’ approach, the Warriors this year have been hitting back at all their detractors since Kevin Durant left the team.

We have seen how comments by the Warriors on other players have really rubbed them the wrong way. Draymond Green openly called out Jaylen Brown in his Finals review and said ‘they took his heart out‘. Klay Thompson called Jaren Jackson Jr. a clown for focusing more on tweeting at the Warriors than playing the game.

Steph Curry doesn’t get involved much in petty beef, but definitely got involved in some prior to him hosting the ESPYS tonight with Grant Williams of the Boston Celtics, mocking him on Instagram. Curry took that a little further at the event itself, calling out Williams from the stage.

“Speaking of the Celtics, Grant Williams, I see you in the building. It’s great to see you again my man. I know you like this color (referencing his green suit). I’ll let you borrow it after I’m done. I might even let you wear a ring. Eh, might, we’ll see. We’ll see.”

The ESPYS are supposed to be funny and throw shots at various people in the world of basketball. Curry started his set with a LeBron James joke, so it’s fair to say Grant Williams was not going to be beyond approach.

These Warriors have been making a name for themselves as ruthless trash-talkers and Curry being put into this position at the ESPYS serves that purpose perfectly. We have been seeing a lot more fire from the likes of Draymond Green, who’s using his podcast to air his feelings out. Curry is using the ESPYS stage to do the same, and he is using it extremely well.
