It has been a rough season for the defending champs. After winning the championship over the summer, they came out flat to start the season after Draymond Green laid out Jordan Poole in a team practice.

Over the following weeks and months, the Dubs played have played horribly inconsistent basketball and stand near the .500 mark over halfway through the season.

Now, they will have to endure a stretch without their best player for the second time this season and many fans believe this latest Curry injury could be what ends the Warriors’ hopes of a repeat.

Thanks to big performances from Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole, the Warriors were actually able to stay afloat the last time Steph went down. But to ask them to do it again for several more weeks is not an ideal situation.

Will The Warriors Make A Trade Before The Deadline?

Of course, the problems for Golden State go much deeper than Steph’s injuries. Even when he’s been healthy, the Warriors haven’t looked like the team that won the title last year, and Steph has had to call them out on numerous occasions.

“It’s the difference in all the narrative around our team. One hundred percent. So we gotta accept it because as a leader in terms of how we are playing out there on the floor I hold a lot of responsibility for it. Not being able to get it done. But we’ve not let it keep us down for too long, so we gotta respond.”

So, the Warriors are about to face their biggest test of the season — but they might not have to do it alone. With days to go before the NBA’s annual trade deadline, the Warriors will likely consider all their options, and some experts have been pushing for them to trade one of their beloved vets.

“They should [trade him this year]”, a Western Conference executive told Deveney. “If they made the decision that they’re not giving up any of the young kids… are you going to just keep chugging forward with what you’ve got… Draymond punch with [Jordan] Poole was a bigger deal than they let on, it is still dragging down that team.”

Only time will tell how this season plays out for the Warriors, but it seems like obstacles just keep getting in their way.

Get well soon, Steph, because the NBA just isn’t the same without you.
