Before a single game was played of the 2021 NBA playoffs, the Atlanta Hawks were seen as underdogs to get past the first round.

And now, weeks later, Trae Young has put his team in a position to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Despite losing Game 6, Young kept his head high and preached a positive message to the media and his team:

“This season has been a roller coaster. This team has fought and battled through a lot since the beginning. To be here where we are now, I mean a lot of wouldn’t have guessed we’d be here. We’re one game away from going to the Eastern Conference Finals, and we’ve got to go on the road and get it.”

Indeed, it hasn’t been all bliss for the Hawks this season. After a slow start, it took just about everything they had to bounce back and clinch the East’s 5th seed.

Along the way, they have encountered many hardships, the most recent of which including the injury to Bogdan Bogdanovic.

But, all things considered, the Hawks have a lot to be proud of, and they have a bright future ahead of them.

It will be interesting to see where the franchise goes from here.
